The Grand Egyptian Museum

A Monumental Tribute to Ancient Civilization

The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), located just 2 km from the Pyramids of Giza, is poised to be the largest archaeological museum dedicated to a single civilization. With a full grand opening scheduled for July 3, 2025, the 500,000-square-meter complex will house over 100,000 artifacts, including the most extensive display of King Tutankhamun’s treasures. Key highlights include five main exhibition halls, a grand staircase with 87 monumental pieces, and the Solar Boat Museum featuring Pharaoh Khufu’s 4,600-year-old vessel. Designed by Heneghan Peng Architects, the triangular, glass-façaded structure offers panoramic views of the nearby pyramids. Visitors can enjoy interactive experiences, modern amenities, and a glimpse into Egypt’s rich past through innovative displays and immersive technology.
