Giza Pyramids & Sphinx
Timeless Icons of Ancient Egypt
The Giza Pyramid Complex, located just outside Cairo, is a world-renowned archaeological site featuring three iconic pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and other ancient structures. The Great Pyramid of Khufu, a Wonder of the Ancient World, stands as the largest and oldest of the trio. The Pyramid of Khafre appears tallest due to its higher ground and preserved casing stones, while the smaller Pyramid of Menkaure adds to the site’s grandeur. The Great Sphinx, with a lion’s body and a pharaoh’s head—likely Khafre—remains one of the oldest and largest monolithic statues globally. Visitors can also explore the Solar Boat Museum, which houses Khufu’s reconstructed funerary boat. Located 13 km from downtown Cairo, the site is open year-round with seasonal hours and ticket options. For the best experience, visit during cooler months or early in the day to beat the heat and crowds.
The Giza Pyramid Complex, located on the outskirts of Cairo, is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. It consists of three main pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and several smaller structures.
